Mercedes Door Crease Removal

This brand new Mercedes was damaged in the first 2 weeks of the customer owning it. How disheartening to have your brand new car damaged by someone else after taking perfect care of your pride and joy. The vehicle was parked outside the customers work place like any other day when a motorcyclist tried to squeeze between two vehicles. This resulted in the motorcyclists handlebar hitting into the passenger rear door of these Mercedes and leaving a 4 inch crease in the metal work. With the motorcyclist not stopping to tell the owner of the vehicle, this left her to look at different repair options for Mercedes door crease removal.

After looking at different repair options and seeing that Paintless dent removal was the best way forward, the customer decided to get in contact via our contact form. Dent Medic Pdr could offer a Mercedes door crease removal without the use of any fillers or paints and could restore the vehicle back to its original show room condition. All of this for under half of the customers insurance excess.

The Paintless Dent Removal Process

Crease dents are one of the more challenging dent repairs for paintless dent removal. The reason behind this is because of the pinpoint accuracy you need to remove one. Imagine taking a perfectly sharp pencil and poking it on to a piece of paper countless times until you have successfully made a straight line with no gaps. Well this is exactly what we are doing on the back of the panel to remove a crease.

We are carefully using our tool of choice to push the crease out from the underside, we have to make sure our tool is exactly on the crease line and each careful push has to overlap the last. Although this sounds daunting, with the experience and training we have this does become second nature.

Tools and Access

To Gain access to this repair we drop the window down and slide a metal guard down the window channel to cover the glass. By doing this it allows us to slide a tool down the window channel and lever our tool off of the metal guard. Unfortunately on this repair this wasn’t quite the case due to a panel strengthening bar being located over the dent. In this circumstance we opt for a tool known as a whale tail (sound silly we know).

As you can see from the picture the end of the tool is shaped like a whales tail, this allows us to slide it in-between the strengthening bar and the door skin. We can then use a twisting motion to carefully push on the underside of the dent.

Finishing the Repair

Once we are coming to the end of the repair we will cross check our work. This means that we will move our specialist led light to different positions to make sure the dent is perfectly removed from all angles. Once we are 100% certain that the panel is back to its original factory condition we will remove all of our tools and equipment from the vehicle. last but no least the panel will get a light complementary polish to remove and imperfections that may have been caused when the dent occurred.
